Let’s take a look at the Player Ratings from the La Liga match between Elche and Real Madrid at the Manuel Martínez Valero Stadium.

Vinicius Junior scored both goals to seal Real Madrid a 2-1 victory over Elche in La Liga.

After a midweek 0-0 draw with Osasuna, as well as losing Karim Benzema, the pressure was on for Real Madrid. Three points were needed, and Vinicius stepped up to the mantle to get the job done.

The Brazilian fired Los Blancos into a 22nd-minute lead in what was an entertaining and open first half. Both sides had their fair share of chances. Lucas Perez forced Thibaut Courtois into some important saves, while Rodrygo – who came off injured early – and Marco Asensio caused problems on the right-wing.

Wonder Vinicius goal seals win

Elche needed an answer in the second half and piled the pressure on Carlo Ancelotti’s men. The hosts were good value for money on the day. But things went downhill when Raul Guti got sent off just past the hour-mark for a second bookable offense.

Vinicius later doubled Real Madrid’s lead with a glorious finish in the 78th-minute. The ageless Luka Modric picked out the youngster, who then exquisitely chipped the ball past Kiko Casilla with the outside of his foot. The ball sailed into the far corner to cap off a remarkable goal.

But just as it seemed the match was over, Elche pulled one back. Substitute Benedetto headed the ball into the path of Pere Milla, who then coolly slotted the ball past Courtois in a one-on-one.

Real Madrid, though, held on to take home all three points and move back on top of La Liga. Elche, in contrast, remain in 15th place and two points above the relegation zone.
