Ronaldo scored one of his best goals with an unstoppable bicycle kick against Juventus.
Eden Hazard has picked Cristiano Ronaldo’s stunning goal against Juventus in 2018 as “the most beautiful goal” he’s watched.
Zinedine Zidane put his hand to his head and looked at Real Madrid staff in utter disbelief when Ronaldo scored one the most iconic goals in Champions League history.
Ronaldo had already put Real Madrid ahead in the first period, but Juventus were pushing to get the equalizer. Then came one of the best goals in Ronaldo’s career.
A cross from Dani Carvajal saw CR7 rising in the air before smashing the ball past Gianluigi Buffon with a stunning bicycle kick.
The goal even convinced Juve fans to follow Zidane in applauding Ronaldo’s masterpiece. Hazard says he had a similar experience while watching the game at home.
Asked what’s the most beautiful goal he’s seen, the Belgian star responded: “Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal against Juve. I stood in front of the TV applauding for more than a minute.”
Radio broadcaster Pat Nevin said at the time: “When the ball comes across to him you think: ‘Oh, you’re not going to try an overhead kick.’ And then, bang! Oh wow! Just see it, watch it,” said the former Scotland winger.
“It is unnatural. People are talking about how Ronaldo is getting a bit older now – but there is nothing wrong with that body if he can do that sort of thing. The timing of it is extraordinary, the imagination to do it is extraordinary.
“A lot of the Juventus fans stayed behind to applaud Ronaldo. To turn around this coliseum to his side – wow. Call it genius if you like.
“It is one of the great goals you will see in football.”
