Paulo Dybala has revealed his reaction when he first heard Juventus were interested in him back in 2015.
Paulo Dybala reveals he thought it was all a joke when his agent informed him of interest coming from the Juventus camp back in 2015.
The Argentine impressed for Palermo in the 2014/15 season and was one of the standout names in Serie A at large.
It was only a matter of time before Juventus set their sights on Dybala, and it was an offer he could not turn down.
In the summer of 2015, Juventus announced the signing of a man making his name in football when they signed Dybala for €32m.
Looking back at that moment, the 27-year-old says he could not believe it was happening.
Dybala answered the questions of some young fans in an interview organized by Juventus.
One of the fans then asked about how he reacted when Juventus called him.
“I immediately asked if it was a joke. There were other teams that had been contacting me, but I immediately told my agent to close the other calls and only listen to Juventus.
“I dream of winning the Champions League with Juventus and the World Cup with Argentina, it’s difficult, but who knows.
Dybala also explained his mask celebration and revealed who his idol was.
“I really liked Ronaldinho for how he lived football and for his joy onto the pitch. He was proving amazing things with simplicity.
“I am passionate about gladiators, they used to wear masks to face a battle. Even if football is the sport we love, sometimes we go through difficult moments and that’s why I thought about this gesture. I like the message that I can send to anyone, not only those who play football.”
