Juventus have officially put injury-riddled Douglas Costa up for sale, as Andrea Pirlo looks to make room for the newcomers.

Douglas Costa’s last two years at Juventus have been plagued by injuries, as he only managed seven Serie A starts last season.

The 2019/20 campaign ended prematurely for the Brazilian as he suffered a tear in the abductor muscle. It bore much resemblance to 2018/19 when Costa could only feature for Juventus on 18 occasions in Serie A.

The 29-year-old winger found himself out of favor with the previous boss Maurizio Sarri. Unfortunately, his fortunes will not turn around under Andrea Pirlo.

Pirlo has already blacklisted several Juventus first-team stars, with Costa one of them. As reported by Goal, the former Bayern Munich star has the freedom to decide where he wants to continue his career.

The news of Costa’s availability has set Manchester United on red alert. The Red Devils have been tracking the Brazil international for some time.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to add to his attacking options before the deadline passes.

Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho remains a priority. But, the clubs are way apart in their valuations of the 20-year-old winger.

With the veil of uncertainty surrounding the Englishman’s future, Solskjaer wants to have back-up options ready.

Despite his recent injury woes, Costa remains a viable solution. He has a wealth of experience to bring into United’s juvenile squad.

His blistering pace and a potent left-foot would add a new dimension to Ole’s attacking set-up.

But, Costa’s future could well be lying away from Europe. There are several sides from the UAE willing to pour gold on the Brazilian to persuade him to move to the Arabian Peninsula.
