Wolverhampton Wanderers have been offered the chance to sign the Juventus misfit Douglas Costa, reports in Italy suggest.
Douglas Costa has seen his skills deemed surplus to requirements by the new Juventus boss Andrea Pirlo. Along with several other first-team stars, the Brazilian has ended up on the market.
Pirlo is keen to revamp the attacking options he inherited from Maurizio Sarri. After offloading Gonzalo Higuain to Inter Miami, the Italian is now looking to get Costa off the books.
Arsenal and Manchester United have so far been the only sides credited with an interest in the left-footed winger.
But, after snapping up Willian from Chelsea on a free transfer, the Gunners have withdrawn their interest.
Also, the Red Devils have opted to pursue a deal for Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho. The Englishman seems ever closer to joining United, which would exclude Costa’s arrival.
Costa could still end up joining the Premier League. As per Italian publication TuttoJuve, Wolverhampton transpires as the 29-year-old’s potential destination.
The Bianconeri have reportedly taken an interest in the Wolves speed demon Adama Traore. As part of their efforts to land the pacey winger, perennial Serie A champions are willing to offer one of three players in exchange.
Federico Bernadeschi, Aaron Ramsey, and Douglas Costa are the players Juventus would be ready to include as part of a swap deal.
While the Molineux outfit seem reluctant to accept any of the former two, the idea of having another lightning-quick forward appeals to Nuno Espirito Santo.
There’s a massive gap in the valuation of the two players, though. While Costa’s current price tag stands at £18million, Wolves value their star at a staggering £135m.
Therefore, Juventus will have to come up with a hefty amount of money to compensate for a substantial disparity in price.
