The Black and Yellows are not preparing to give up on Julian Brandt without a fight.
Borussia Dortmund have reportedly made a new offer to extend Julian Brandt’s contract amid interest from Premier League sides.
Since joining Dortmund from Bayer Leverkusen in 2019, Brandt has established himself as one of the best wingers in the Bundesliga.
His performances have attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs, including Tottenham and Arsenal. With Brandt’s current deal expiring in 2024, Dortmund is keen to avoid pressure from the English sides next summer.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Dortmund have submitted their new contract offer to Brandt’s representatives. The German giants are reportedly negotiating with the player’s camp over salary demands and the duration of the new deal.
Brandt has registered eight goals and four assists in his 24 Bundesliga appearances this season. The German international is also on Newcastle’s radar as the Magpies prepare their extensive transfer plans for the summer.
However, Dortmund look eager to land a new deal before Brandt enters the final year of his contract. A new report from Sky Sport’s Sven Wsterschulze claims the player himself can well imagine staying at Signal Iduna Park beyond the current campaign.
Following their DFB-Pokal defeat against RB Leipzig, Dortmund will return to Bundesliga to host Union Berlin this weekend.
