The young hitman’s future has been a subject of speculations for a while, with almost every top club said to be after him.

Erling Haaland could remain at Borussia Dortmund beyond the 2021-22 season, says an optimistic Marco Rose.

A bidding war is expected to commence next summer when Haaland’s reported €75 million release clause becomes active.

The 21-year-old striker, who had a hand in all of BVB’s goals in the 5-2 win over Frankfurt in their Bundesliga opener, is supposedly being strongly courted by Real Madrid, who desperately need to bolster their attack.

Bayern Munich recently openly admitted their interest in the player, who has also been linked with Premier League giants Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea.

“He still has a long-term contract with us,” stated BVB head coach Rose during an interview with Sport Bild.

“Just because the public is constantly talking about him leaving BVB next summer, that doesn’t necessarily have to be the case.

“In the end, Erling has to decide for himself where he sees his future. In any case, we are happy that he is currently playing for us – and, who knows, possibly it’ll be even more than just one season if we write an extraordinary story here.”
