Borussia Dortmund director Michael Zorc provided his verdict on recent transfer rumors for Erling Haaland.

Borussia Dortmund director Michael Zorc provided an update on the ongoing transfer rumors for Erling Haaland. The Norwegian has been linked to the Spanish champions Real Madrid. Since wearing the yellow and black jersey, the 20-year-old has been firing goals and giving match-winning performances. And Haaland has become a top prospect in European football after his £18 million move from Red Bull Salzburg. The prolific striker has netted 33 times in his first 31 outings for Dortmund across all tournaments.

As a result of his bright display of football on the pitch, many high-end suitors are attracted to the BVB star. Additionally, even though his deal with Dortmund is until 2024, rumors regarding his transfer are soaring all over. And Los Blancos are said to have developed an interest in the Norway international. But, according to reports, Haaland has a huge release clause of €75 million on his head.

The Dortmund chief Zorc, however, dismissed any potential chances of the starlet leaving the club. He told the press conference ahead of Dortmund’s clash against Koln on Saturday: “We plan for the long term with Erling. [Rumours] do not have to be dealt with at all. I will see him with us for a long time.”

Zorc received questions regarding Haaland’s club expectations and tasks, whether this kind of pressure is too early for the striker. He replied: “You don’t have to ground him at all. He exudes such a positive dynamic. Why should we slow it down now? He is leading the way, which is very good for us. I do not believe in artificially slowing positive developments.”
