Giovanni Reyna lays out his ambitions with Borussia Dortmund while also announcing his commitment to the club.

17-year old Giovanni Reyna rose through the ranks at Borussia Dortmund before breaking into their first-team squad in the second half of the 2019/20 season.

Reyna went on to play 18 matches across all competitions, with the majority of his appearances as a substitute, and found the back of the once.

Considered as one of the most promising players in world football right now, the young American has already been earning admiring glances from a few European elites.

Reyna, who has a contract with Dortmund until 2021, though, suggests he does not intend to leave the Signal Iduna Park in the near future.

“I’m very, very happy here right now, that is all that counts,” he told in an interview with German publication Bild.

“Dortmund are not a stepping-stone. It is a club that is fighting for titles. The incredible fans alone make BVB something special.”

Reyna then goes on to suggest that it excites him to be a part of Lucien Favre’s quite young and talented team that has the likes of Jadon Sancho and Erling Haaland.

“With Jadon and Erling it is really fun to whirl around on the pitch,” added the English-born United States youth international.

“Two 19-year-olds [Sancho and Haaland, who are both now 20] and a 17-year-old – that was pretty cool. The club can be proud of that, because it is exactly what the club stands for.”
