Bayern Munich won the five-goal thriller to extend their lead on the Bundesliga table.

Bayern Munich defeated Borussia Dortmund with a 3-2 result in their league game on Saturday. The Bavarians won Der Klassiker for the fifth time in a row as Robert Lewandowski scored a brace.

Lewandowski passes the Haaland test once again!

The game started with a great pace, with Dortmund dominating the possession in the first couple of minutes. Julian Brandt broke the deadlock only five minutes into the game to get the game on fire early on.

Bayern immediately started their efforts to get the equalizer and quickly got what they wanted. Following a mistake by Mats Hummels, Thomas Muller’s assist found Lewandowski in a one-on-one situation. The Polish star scored the equalizer for Bayern with a low shot to the right corner.

The Bavarians took the lead through Kingsley Coman’s right before the half-time whistle. However, a stunning strike from Erling Haaland levelled the game again, only three minutes into the second period.

Hummels completed his disastrous performance with a handball that resulted in a penalty for Bayern in the 77th minute. Despite Gregor Kobel’s great reaction, Lewandowski completed his brace to make it 3-2 for Bayern. The Black and Yellow tried a few more attacks to get their second equalizer, but Bayern managed to get away with the three points as the hosts seemed exhausted.

The Bavarians extend their lead on top of the table to four points. They will now prepare for their Champions League match against Barcelona on Wednesday.

On the other hand, Dortmund stay second as they feel Leverkusen’s pressure, who are now only three points away. The Black and Yellows will face Besiktas in their last Champions League game of the campaign.
