The Bavarians returned to winning ways with a crucial victory over Dortmund.

Bayern Munich defeated Borussia Dortmund 4-0 in their Bundesliga match on Saturday. Harry Kane scored a hat-trick in his first Der Klassiker to ensure Bayern’s victory.

What happened?

Bayern stunned their opponents with an early goal through Dayot Upamecano. The French centre-back turned Leroy Sane’s corner into Bayern’s first goal with a powerful header.

Bayern didn’t allow Dortmund to find their feet in the game, scoring the second goal in the ninth minute. Following a quick counter-attack, Harry Kane nodded the ball home from close range to claim his first Der Klassiker goal.

Dortmund made a few attempts to score before the break but couldn’t convert their chances. The trend continued throughout the second period, with Manuel Neuer making a fantastic save to stop Marco Reus’ shot inside the box.

Kane then put the victory to bed for Bayern when he made it 3-0 in the 72nd minute. The England captain calmly converted Kingsley Coman’s cutback as he scored his second goal of the night. Bayern’s put more pressure on the hosts’ exhausted backline in the final ten minutes, extending their lead through Kane in the 93rd minute.

A through ball from Aleksandar Pavlovic found Kane behind Dortmund’s backline. Bayern’s star striker then converted the one-on-one against Gregor Kobel to complete his hat-trick at Signal Iduna Park.
