The former Chelsea manager has been tipped for a swift return to football following his ruthless dismissal last week.

Frank Lampard has been made the bookies favorite to become the next manager of Championship side Bournemouth.

It’s only been a week since Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich brutally sacked the Blues legend as manager following a run of poor results, but it seems he could be back in the dugout in no time at all.

Oddschanger has installed Lampard as the ‘heavy favorite’ to take charge of Bournemouth ahead of Jonathan Woodgate, Eddie Howe, and his former Chelsea teammate John Terry.

The Championship club sacked manager Jason Tindall on Wednesday morning after a 2-1 home defeat to Sheffield Wednesday on the previous day.

While dropping to the English second-tier is a far cry from leading Chelsea in the upper half of the Premier League, Lampard may welcome the job. It’ll move him out of the spotlight and to a club that could be back in the top-flight next season.

Bournemouth currently hold sixth-place, and the final playoff promotion spot, in the Championship table. The Cherries are eight points off an automatic promotion spot, but still have another 19 games left to play. So all in all, there is still plenty left to play for.

Woodgate, who joined the club as a coach this week, and former manager Howe are Lampard’s biggest competition so far.
