Everton defender Lucas Digne believes the club’s three new signings have already brought about a significant change at the club.
Lucas Digne is pleased with the impact of Everton’s new signings so far.
James Rodriguez, Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure have all featured impressively in the Toffees’ first two wins of the season. The results have marked the Toffees best start to a campaign since the 2012/13 season.
While the 1-0 win over Tottenham on the opening weekend was relatively drama-free, Everton’s most recent outing was much different. Digne featured as Everton came from a goal down to beat West Brom by a 5-2 scoreline.
New signing James Rodriguez scored a beautiful goal from outside the box in that match and showed glimpses of the player with much talent we saw during the 2014 World Cup.
Speaking in an interview with EvertonTv, Digne was pleased with his side’s character and also hailed the impact of the new arrivals at the club.
“Maybe last year we would have lost or drawn this game [against West Brom] but I think we’ve learnt from our mistakes in the past,” the France international told Evertontv.
“We know what we want to achieve this season and we have to show character.”
“We are playing good football and it was a good win for us.”
“The Club showed character when we bought in the new signings and we’ve been able to show character and ambition on the pitch, too, with the quality we have.”
“I’m not surprised by how the new players are playing. I know their quality. They are world-class players.”
“As a team, we are doing well for the moment. We have to keep going like this.”
Digne and his Everton side will look to secure a third consecutive Premier League win when they travel to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
