After Kieran Trippier’s suspension, Diego Simeone wanted to offer his opinion on the matter and how Atletico is trying to solve the issue.

Kieran Trippier gave Diego Simeone some of the worst news he could’ve gotten after he got banned for 10 weeks by the FA. The reason behind this punishment is that the English full-back breached the established rules against betting. After the player denied seven different charges, the FA decided to ban him in a decision that affects Atletico Madrid the most.

Trippier won’t be able to play for 13 matches with the Colchoneros. And yet, he will be able to play for the England National Team when international activity returns. In Diego Simeone’s eyes, this is extremely unfair for the Spanish club. He believes the decision shouldn’t affect Atletico because they had nothing to do with the matter.

Simeone wants the punishment to change.

Essentially, Diego Simeone and Atletico Madrid will request the punishment to change. The Spanish club’s manager doesn’t want this ban to affect his side but he doesn’t care if it affects Trippier’s England participation. He does have a point when he says Atletico is not to blame for what happened.

During a press conference reported by Marca, Simeone said: “This week it feels like a month has passed. We came across the Trippier thing, which I consider to be unfair. I hope that the damage to Atletico Madrid can be reviewed, because Atletico have nothing to do with this situation.”We believe that the English Federation benefits and we hope that it can be revised.”
