Diego Carlos has attracted interest from some of Europe’s top clubs but says his focus remains with Europa winners Sevilla.

Diego Carlos was one of the stars for Sevilla last season.

Having only joined from Nantes last summer, the Brazilian center-back was a consistent name for Los Palanganas throughout their campaign.

It was no surprise that a host of top clubs started to show interest in Carlos towards the end of last season.

The likes of Arsenal, Chelsea both showed interest at one point for his signature. Manchester City are still reported to be monitoring his situation.

Carlos capped off a brilliant debut campaign with Sevilla by helping them to a fourth-place La Liga finish and also claim the Europa League win.

Amid all the growing interest for his signature, the 27-year-old says he only has his focus on improving his performances for Sevilla.

Carlos told radio station Cope Sevilla: “In football, we do not know what can happen. It is a complicated situation. I am very happy in Sevilla, with everyone.

“I do not know what can happen at the end of the market. I have spoken with my agents, I do not want speculation. I am working with Sevilla. My goal is with Sevilla. I have a contract and here I am. I want to have a spectacular year.”

After their Europa League win, Carlos is targeting even more titles as the club return to the top level of continental club competition with the Champions League.

He added: “We are here to fight for everything, we will do our best to reach all the goals. We are working very well, we are improving.

“We know the teams that we’ll face but we are prepared for everything. I am very happy and dream of more titles. Everyone who works at Sevilla, they are excellent people”.
