Ahead of France’s international break, Didier Deschamps revealed the whole truth about Paul Pogba’s Man United immediate future.
Let’s be honest, Paul Pogba is not happy at Man United and Didier Deschamps knows this. The France manager lived through the midfielder’s constant wishes to lead a different life with the Red Devils. When he first made the decision to return from Juventus, he had a very different idea of what the club was. Pogba initially thought he was going to a club that was good-enough to fight for all the titles.
But instead, he found a squad in complete decadence that would only be good enough to win the Europa League. Paul has only performed at his real level during his first season at the club. After that, he hasn’t been able to find his ideal place to keep growing as one of the best midfielders in the world. Fortunately for Pogba, he always has France as his safe space to remind himself of how good of a player he is.
Deschamps’ revelation about Pogba’s future.
Ahead of France’s upcoming international break, Didier Deschamps decided to speak on behalf of Paul Pogba’s feelings. It is clear that the midfielder is not going through the best time as a Red Devil.
“Paul, I know him well and he knows the group well,” said Deschamps via Metro. “He is in a situation with his club where he cannot be happy, neither with his playing time, nor with his positioning. He is not in his best period, he has had a series of injuries, and the Covid-19 which has hit him quite hard. He needs to find his rhythm. The match he had to make last month was good and consistent despite a lack of pace.
“However, we cannot say that he is fulfilled in what he does at his club. With me, there is no such concern, but I try to manage it too. When a player is in discomfort in his club, obviously, he is happy to play for the France team. He will tell me about his feelings and as I know him very well, it will go in a positive direction. Even if it is also up to him to make all his efforts.”
