The Borussia Dortmund manager believes both strikers have their own unique strengths.

Borussia Dortmund will face Bayern Munich in a Bundesliga game on Saturday. The Bavarians have the chance to win their tenth league title in a row by beating their arch-rivals.

However, they will have to stay cautious over Dortmund’s in-form attacking line, who dismantled Wolfsburg 6-1 last week.

Erling Haaland will spearhead the Black and Yellows’ hopes of claiming a victory at Allianz Arena. The Norwegian star scored twice in his side’s crushing win over Wolfsburg, bouncing back from a period of poor form.

Ahead of Der Klassiker, Dortmund manager Marco Rose reacted to comparisons between Haaland and Robert Lewandowski.

“They have different strengths,” he told a press conference. “Lewandowski serves all facets with more experience and drops a lot.

“He’s in a good position in the box too though. His first contact is world class.

“[But] Erling has also made progress this season. In the transition game, he is an absolute weapon.

“His header game has also gotten much better. When the ball comes into the box, both know exactly where the goal is.”

Dortmund have not defeated Bayern in Bundesliga since 2018. Let’s see if Haaland and co can delay Bayern’s title celebration this weekend.
