According to a report, Barcelona-linked Memphis Depay has decided to remain with Lyon until the end of the season.

Despite increasing links with Barcelona, Depay has reportedly agreed to stay put at Lyon until the end of the season.

The Dutchman has only six months left on his Lyon contract and Barcelona have made no secret about their intention to sign the player.

The Catalan giants made a move for Depay last summer but financial limitations meant a move could not materialize.

It was believed that Barcelona would move again for the Lyon captain in the current January transfer window.

Recent developments could mean Koeman and company must wait until the summer for any possible move.

Just recently, Depay publicly expressed that he was happy at Lyon, and French publication L’Equipe has also reported that the player will stay at the club until the summer.

The report adds that the Dutchman is ready to help his club challenge for the Ligue 1 title this term and would not want to derail their chances by leaving them mid-season.

In six months’ time, Lyon would give Depay their blessings to move to whichever club he decides to.

The 26-year-old has been a key figure for Les Gones this term with 10 league goals from 18 games so far.

The decision would come as welcome news for Lyon who are currently top of the Ligue 1 standings.
