The Dutch international is strongly linked with leaving Lyon this summer, having refused to extend his contract with the club.

Memphis Depay has played down talks of his future saying he is currently focusing on the upcoming European tournament.

Depay, as things stand, could play a good part of Euro 2020 as a free agent, with his contract with Lyon due to expire on June 30.

The 27-year-old winger looked destined to join Barcelona until recently as fresh reports claim Juventus have offered him a much more lucrative contract in order to try and beat the Spanish giants to his signature on a free transfer.

The Dutchman had a fantastic season with Lyon, scoring 22 goals and supplying 12 assists across all competitions, and he is now hoping to replicate his 2020/21 form with the Netherlands.

“Right now my job is to prepare well for the European Championship, nothing more,” responded Depay when asked about the recent transfer talks, via Marca.

“The rest doesn’t bother me or distract me. I know there is speculation, there always is. That’s how the world of football is and I’m used to dealing with such situations.

“I’m not going to say anything more about this. The transfer market is long and there is time ahead.”
