Ousmane Dembele is closing towards free agency with no extension agreement between Barcelona and his representatives.

Ousmane Dembele’s future is yet to arrive at a conclusion at Barcelona as the striker’s agent issued a question against the management of the club.

The France international and World Cup winner is running through his last six months of the contract. Still, there has been no advancements in his extension talks.

Though negotiations have been conducted, both parties have not reached a common point. Amidst all this, Dembele’s agent criticised Barcelona for dragging the 24-year-old to play despite coming back from a positive Covid-19 test.

While talking with L’Equipe, Moussa Sissoko, Dembele’s career manager spoke about the recent happenings at the club.

He said: “Everyone talks about money. But it’s not only money for us. Also, the management with the player day to day is very important. How can he play right after getting Covid without even training?”

What happened?

The Frenchman tested positive for Covid-19 late during December last year. He consequently missed the first game of 2022 due to self-quarantine.

However, Dembele was immediately called for action for the Copa del Rey clash against Linares. Xavi substituted the forward at half-time who then went on to score an important goal in the 2-1 win.

Further, he was also in the starting XI of the 1-1 draw against Granada in Barcelona’s recent game. And now, Dembele will also feature in the Super Cup semifinal affair against Real Madrid.

As a result of the frequent use of the player, his agent Sissoko expressed his frustration against Barca’s management.
