Chelsea are pushing to add a new player to their ranks in the final hour of the transfer window.

A crazy transfer window deadline day has seen Chelsea continue their efforts to sign Enzo Fernandez.

Negotiations for the Argentina international dragged on from after the World Cup until an hour before the transfer window’s deadline.

But according to Fabrizio Romano, the two parties eventually reached an agreement at around 23:00 CET. Speaking on his live Youtube show, the Sky Sports journalist claimed the clubs are “rushing to complete the paperwork” before the window closes.

Fernandez will reportedly join Chelsea on a €120m deal, breaking the Premier League’s transfer record.

Elsewhere in the English top flight, Manchester United completed a deadline-day move for Marcel Sabitzer. The Austria international left Bayern Munich on a loan deal until the end of the season.

There is no option to buy included in the midfielder’s contract. But Bayern will most likely be open to selling him in the summer as Konrad Laimer arrives at Allianz Arena as a free agent.

Another last-hour story is that of Julian Araujo’s move to Barcelona.

The Catalans have reportedly reached an agreement with LA Galaxy for the right-back’s loan move. However, they are yet to officially announce the deal.

Araujo is set to replace Hector Bellerin, who left Barcelona to join Sporting Lisbon earlier on Tuesday. The Catalans side will reportedly pay a loan fee of around €4m for the young defender.
