Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis says the club have put Kalidou Koulibaly and Arkadiusz Milik on the transfer market for this summer.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has given an update on the future of Koulibaly and Milik.
Both players are strongly linked with an exit from the club this summer as the Partenopei strongly look to rebuild for next season.
Milik could be headed to one of Juventus or Roma. His future is inter-twined with Edin Dzeko’s future. Should the Bosnian forward leave the I Giallorossi, Milik could be his replacement.
On the other hand, Koulibaly is strongly linked with a move to Manchester City. Napoli and the Citizens are firmly in talks but a valuation for the defender looks to be the final hurdle.
It’s nothing affirmative but latest comments from the Napoli president suggest the pair could indeed be on their way out of the club soon enough.
“Koulibaly and Milik are both on their way out, transfer market permitting,” De Laurentiis told Canale 21 as quoted by Football-Italia.
“So, if the transfer market allows us to sell these two excellent players, we will know how to replace them. If not, then we’ll discuss it again next year.”
Head coach Gennaro Gattuso mentioned sometime last week that new signing Victor Osimhen will need time to gel in new surroundings. Aurelio De Laurentiis also echoed those thoughts.
“I imagine we’ll see Napoli in a 4-2-3-1 formation, but then Gattuso is extremely creative and capable of reinventing situations based on the opponents and players at his disposal.”
