Lionel Messi has asked to leave the club and Frenkie de Jong revealed what everyone expected that there is chaos at Camp Nou.

Barcelona brought Lionel Messi to Catalonia as a 13-year-old. He has won everything at the club and holds every prominent record at the club. He is not 33 and wants to end his association.

It is a situation no one thought would ever come. After all, Messi is still Barcelona’s best player and the best player in La Liga.

Frenkie de Jong has not talked to anyone in the club due to the sensitivity of the topic. However, he admits its chaos at Camp Nou as Messi’s departure will be a ‘huge blow’.

“It is chaos, there is a lot going on,” Football Oranje quoted De Jong.

“I haven’t talked to him about this myself. Nor the club. So I honestly do not know how it is. But if Messi really leaves, it will be a huge blow to the team and the club. When I come back after these international matches, I will see what has happened at the club.”

De Jong admitted that he does not have a great friendship with Messi but is in the players’ circle and part of their group chat.

“I didn’t call him. I think enough people want to know about him. I don’t have such a good relationship with him that I call him and ask him how it is.”

Messi is reportedly eyeing a reunion with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City. His arrival has everyone putting in extra yards on the pitch, with soon to be rival, Kieran Tierney hailing his class.
