The Oranje missed out on the last two competitions at the international stage and will now be looking to redeem their reputation.

Netherlands have “a lot of confidence” ahead of their Euro 2020 opener against Ukraine, says Frenkie De Jong.

Netherlands go into Sunday’s match on the back of a comfortable 3-0 victory over Georgia.

Despite having failed to impress under the management of Frank de Boer, they are favorites to collect all three points in Sunday’s match at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

De Boer’s men are about to get back on the big stage after not participating in the two previous international competitions as they failed to qualify for the Euro 2016 and the 2018 World Cup. And De Jong feels his team has prepared well for the tournament.

“The feeling is good and we have a lot of confidence,” the Barcelona midfielder said, per Football Oranje.

“The way of playing has become clear, and we have taken good steps in that regard. And then we’ll see where we end up or if we win the European Championship.

“We can’t wait for Sunday and we’re all set.”
