The Man City pair share a combined 38-goal contribution in all competitions this season.

Erling Haaland can score up to 800 career goals if he stays fit and doesn’t change his approach, according to Manchester City teammate Kevin De Bruyne.

The 22-year-old striker has been in scintillating form since his €60 million summer arrival from Borussia Dortmund. In 19 appearances across all tournaments, he has managed 24 goals and three assists. Seven of his City goals came courtesy of an assist from De Bruyne, who expects many more to follow in the coming years.

“Erling is so obsessed with goals. He already has about 200 goals, so he can probably go to 600, 700, or 800 if he stays fit and does the things that he does,” De Bruyne said on The Guardian.

“Erling is a top-level striker. I don’t see Erling as different to a lot of people. He is a normal football player like everybody else and he doesn’t take himself too seriously.

“When you talk about professional footballers or professional athletes, everybody has that little edge. I don’t think you can become a professional player if you don’t have that little something to become the best version you can be.

“He is still a young boy enjoying his life, and he takes his football very seriously. He loves scoring goals, so I think that is the most unique thing he has.”

According to stats from Transfermarkt, Haaland has scored 182 goals in his professional career. The attacker has 159 club goals with Bryne FK, Molde, Salzburg, Dortmund, and City. On the international scene, he has scored 23 times in 21 games for the Norwegian national team.
