The Sky Blues were at their sparkling best on Tuesday night, especially going forward, and easily powered four points clear at the top.

Kevin De Bruyne has issued a challenge to Manchester City following their rout of Leeds United as he wants the team to “maintain the good level” throughout the season as he expects “a hell of a race” for the Premier League title.

Manchester City were dominant from start to finish against in Tuesday’s Premier League match at the Etihad, and ended up emerging 7-0 victorious.

Phil Foden opened the floodgates in the 8th minute, Jack Grealish quickly added another, De Bruyne, Riyad Mahrez, and John Stones also got on the scoresheet, while Nathan Ake handed Leeds the final blow at minute 78.

It was another imperious display from De Bruyne, who helped his team equal Liverpool’s long-held record of 33 top-flight victories in a calendar year.

“We need to maintain the good level and try to win game by game,” the Belgian midfielder told post-match, per ManCity.com.

“It is a hell of a competition but even outside the top three, it is very hard to win every game. You saw a lot of games like Wolves and West Ham where you win with one goal difference.

“It is still going to be a hell of a race this year but we will try to be there.”
