David Luiz responds to rumors of fall-out with Arteta

The Gunners are going through turbulent times as of late and there have been talks that their troubles are not limited to the pitch.

Arsenal extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to five games and recorded their third successive league defeat after surrendering to Burnley on Sunday.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang chose the wrong net to score it was his own goal that led to his side’s 1-0 loss.

A report from Football London after the match claimed that some of the senior players have been left disappointed with Mikel Arteta’s handling of the team with his leadership causing players to ‘mentally clock out.’

David Luiz was said to be one of those players while it was also claimed that the relationship between the defender and his under-pressure manager has ‘soured’ in recent weeks.

The representatives of the former Chelsea man, however, has denied any such rumors with the club also rebutted suggestions of a rift.

“David Luiz strongly denies this story about him and Arteta and insists he has a good relationship with Arteta and wishes nothing but success,” a statement from Luiz’s camp read, via Metro.

A statement from Arsenal read: “Arsenal have denied that there has been any issue between Mikel Arteta and David Luiz.”
