Darren Fletcher has heaped praise on Jadon Sancho, urging Manchester United to strike a deal with Borussia Dortmund this summer.

A never-ending transfer saga involving Jadon Sancho’s return to his homeland with Manchester United has been making headlines this summer.

The 20-year-old three-year career in the Bundesliga has been defined by his tendency to score and assist week in, week out.

While enjoying a rise to the stardom in North Rhine-Westphalia, Sancho has emerged as the hottest prospect in Europe’s top-five leagues.

Borussia Dortmund have so far been requesting double of what Manchester United are ready to shell out to clinch the deal.

Indeed, there’s a substantial €60million gap between Dortmund’s €120m asking price and United’s €60m valuation of the rising star.

However, Fletcher, who won five Premier League titles under Sir Alex Ferguson, believes the Red Devils must find a way to take Sancho back to England.

Widely-regarded as the future Ballon d’Or contender, the England international has been tipped to shine at Manchester United on multiple occasions in the past.

The 36-year-old midfielder has now joined the well-established opinion that Sancho and United are made for each other.

Former Old Trafford hero, who seems to have paid great attention to Sancho’s development at the Signal Iduna Park, wants to see Ed Woodward materializing Manchester United’s long-term interest this summer.

“At his young age, to be doing what he’s doing at that level of football is fantastic, and there’s no doubt that he has got a bright future in the game,” Fletcher said [via the Metro].

“It’s clearly a position that Manchester United, I feel, have needed for a number of years now, somebody who naturally wants to play off that right-hand side.

“So, I think that it ticks all the boxes in that respect but – at the same time – these transfers are very, very difficult.

“Large sums of money in these times, there’s a lot of circumstances involved in it.

“It’s not just Jadon Sancho and his representatives, it’s Borussia Dortmund, it’s Manchester United, and I’m sure there will be other clubs interested in him as well.

“He’d be a fantastic acquisition for anyone who gets him.”

If the Red Devils do get their hands on Sancho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be likely to favor a potent front three featuring the ex-Manchester City graduate, Anthony Martial, and Marcus Rashford.
