Daniel James has impressed for Man United of late and reveals what it’s like to play alongside Bruno Fernandes.
Daniel James is the latest to speak on how much of an influence Bruno Fernandes has been to the Manchester United squad.
Since joining the Red Devils a year ago, Fernandes has been the proper definition of consistent.
His 34 goals and 21 assists across 59 games for the Red Devils in all competitions over the past year put him up there with the very best in the world.
Daniel James himself has excelled on the pitch recently, having scored against Newcastle and Real Sociedad in the space of a week.
A number of United players have hailed Fernandes for being a leader on the pitch.
Off the pitch, Daniel James says the Portuguese midfielder is just as influential.
“It just is what you see on the TV,” James said as per the club’s official website.
“Bruno has been unbelievable since he’s come in and not just on the pitch, but off the pitch as well.”
“He’s a real character and he’s brought a lot to the changing room. You can see he’s brought a lot to the pitch.”
On the pitch, James says playing alongside Fernandes makes things ‘easier’.
“We do speak a lot because I need to be on the same wavelength as him and, if I can know what he’s going to do before he does it, then it’s going to help both of us” he added.
“I think in a game, there are times when he’s not even looked at you and you know that he’s seen your first five [yard runs].”
“I’ve seen so many of those balls this season. It’s just great to play with him and, hopefully, I can keep having a great connection with him.”
