The Portuguese defender has talked up his illustrious compatriot’s impact behind the scenes at Old Trafford.

Manchester United full-back Diogo Dalot has described what it is like to train and be around Cristiano Ronaldo everyday.

The 23-year-old has singled out Ronaldo’s work ethic, professionalism, and mentality as the qualities he has taken from training alongside the five-time Ballon d’Or winner daily.

The pair have played together for the Portugal national team and Manchester United in recent seasons.

“I’m sure I speak not just for me but he’s been one of the most positive things about this season – to work with somebody who has his culture of working, his professionalism, his mentality and being close to him now… it’s been very helpful for me and my career,” Dalot told Sky Sports.

“I don’t have any more compliments to give about the way he works, he’s a fantastic human being as well.

“The numbers are there, the stats are there, so we’re obviously very happy to have him here.”

What is Ronaldo like off the pitch?

Ronaldo has scored 23 goals in 37 appearances across all competitions since he rejoined United from Juventus last summer. 17 of his goals have come in the Premier League alone.

But other than being a lethal goal machine, what is Ronaldo like off the pitch?

“He’s a very friendly person. When he feels he has the trust of other people, he gives 100 percent of himself to you,” Dalot revealed.

“Everybody gets along with him here, everyone likes to have him around. It’s always a big plus to have a player and a person like this in the changing room.”

Ronaldo and Dalot could both play on Monday for Manchester United’s last home game of the Premier League season against Brentford.

At the time of writing, Bet365 has priced a Red Devils win at 1.72. This implies they have a 58% chance of beating Brentford. To see the match preview, check out the link here.
