Portugal cruised past the Czechs to leapfrog Spain at the top of the Group A2 table.

Portugal defeated Czech Republic 4-0 in their UEFA Nations League game on Saturday. An easy home win saw Cristiano Ronaldo and co move to the top of the Group A2 table.

Dalot steals the show!

Portugal found a perfect start to the game as they put immense pressure on Czech’s backline early on.

The guests managed to repel a few attacks but ultimately conceded the opener in the 33rd minute through Diogo Dalot.

Portugal continued their attacks after the opener while giving away little space for Czech’s counter-attacks. The hosts finally doubled their lead in the 47th minute, ending the first period on a perfect note.

Czech evidently improved their connection in midfield after halftime, increasing their passing accuracy. However, Dalot’s second goal of the night ruined their plans for getting back into the game.

The Manchester United star made it 3-0 for the hosts in the 52nd minute, securing his side’s victory. Portugal seemed reluctant to go all-in with their attacks after the third goal.

However, their forwards, including Ronaldo, still showed the hunger for extending the lead. Following an assist from CR7, Diogo Jota headed the ball home from close range to put the icing on the cake for Portugal.

The winners will now prepare to meet Spain in their next Nations League game on Tuesday.
