It’s time to take a look at the UEFA Nations League’s Player Ratings from Croatia vs France’s match that happened on Wednesday.

Maksimir Stadium in Zagreb was the venue for the UEFA Nations League match between France and Croatia. This was part of the Group 3 of Death that also has Portugal and Sweden. With a stadium at low capacity but few health preventions taken, we had a new edition of the 2018 World Cup final with a few differences.

For starters, the locals didn’t have players like Ante Rebic or Ivan Rakitic available to play. The French did have Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann on the attack, plus Anthony Martial playing beside them both. Didier Deschamps decided to rest key players like N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba for this match. Antoine Griezmann scored the only goal during the first half with a bazooka on his left foot. Hugo Lloris made a brilliant save right before the break.

Croatia ties and Mbappe decides.

The second half was much more entertaining than the first, Croatia came to play with everything they had against France. They weren’t willing to suffer a new defeat at the hands of Les Bleus but coming back wouldn’t be easy. Nikola Vlasic scored a beautiful collective effort that Modric led from the left flank as the equalizer came for the locals.

But Deschamps saw this result coming and decided to make some modifications. Paul Pogba’s inclusion was exactly what France needed in order to gain more depth. One of his passes from behind midfield was the one that broke Croatia’s defense as Digne made the run on the right flank.

Mbappe was waiting inside the box to push the ball inside and score the winner for France. This result leaves France in second place of the UEFA Nations League’s Group 3 inside the A sector. Portugal has 10 points in first place after their win against Sweden.
