After completing a January transfer to Leeds, Weston McKennie shared a funny exchange he once had with CR7.

Weston McKennie has opened up on the humorous rapport he had with former Juventus teammate Cristiano Ronaldo.

The pair played together at Juventus for two seasons from 2020 to 2022. They developed a lighthearted friendship in Turin, with Ronaldo nicknaming McKennie: ‘Texas Boy.’

“He was getting a massage, and I was walking by and said, ‘oh my gosh, your feet look terrible,’’ the American midfielder, who hails from Little Elm, Texas, said before being presented as a Leeds United player.

“He said, ‘Friend, these feet are worth 1 billion euros.’

“I said, ‘you right, respect.’’’

McKennie joined Leeds on a six-month loan deal from Juventus earlier this week. According to various reports, Leeds have a £30 million buy option included as part of the agreement for the summer.

The 29-year-old USA international will hope to make his Premier League debut on Sunday when Jesse Marsch’s side visit Nottingham Forest.
