The three under 21 players that Cristiano Ronaldo voted for the 2021 Kopa Trophy have been revealed.

Cristiano Ronaldo voted Manchester United teammate Mason Greenwood as his No.1 pick for the Kopa Trophy award.

The 20-year-old forward scored 12 times last season and found the back of the net for each of United’s opening three league games this term.

In second-place came fellow countryman Nuno Mendes, who plays as a left-back on loan at Paris Saint-Germain from Sporting CP. Borussia Dortmund midfielder Giovanni Reyna was CR7’s third and final pick.

A leaked photo emerged on Friday evening revealing Ronaldo’s three votes for France Football’s best player under the age of 21 in 2021.

Who won the award?

In the end, though, Pedri scooped the award. The 19-year-old not only broke into the Barcelona first-team in his debut campaign, but he also became indispensable for the Catalan giants. His efforts led to a Copa del Rey title and a maiden call-up to the Spanish national team.

He then went on to star in Euro 2020 and win Gold in the summer Olympic Games.

Pedri collected 89 points in the voting polls, with his nearest rival Jude Bellingham finishing on 39 points. Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala came in third place.

Greenwood, meanwhile, had to settle for fifth ahead of Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka.
