Cristiano Ronaldo has issued a transfer request to Juventus, demanding the club to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers star forward Raul Jimenez.

Jimenez has been one of the deadliest finishers in the Premier League since signing for Wolves from Benfica in 2018.

Initially arrived on loan, the Mexico international made a telling impact, clocking up 17 goals and eight assists in his first season at the club.

His blistering showings persuaded Nuno Espirito Santo to shell out £32million last summer to keep Jimenez permanently, and the player has continued to deliver.

The 2019/20 season was a massive success for former Club America youth academy product, as he recorded 27 goals and ten assists in 55 outings.

The 29-year-old striker, who is contracted to Wolves until 2023, is reportedly on his way of joining fellow Premier League side Manchester United.

Reports say the Red Devils are on the verge of signing Jimenez after the Molineux outfit snapped up SC Braga star Paulinho.

Paulinho should come in as a direct replacement for the current first-choice centre-forward, which fuels intense speculations of Jimenez’s impending departure.

Against this backdrop, Cristiano Ronaldo is desperate for Juventus to beat Manchester United to the prolific frontman’s signature, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The recent appointment of Andrea Pirlo as a new head coach probably means the ‘Bianconeri’ will undergo squad overhaul in the coming months.

The attacking department should go through the biggest changes, with Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain already named as likely candidates to leave Turin.

Higuain struggled with form and fitness under Maurizio Sarri last term and could make way for the new No 9 this summer.

As for Dybala, he is mooted for a move to Manchester United as a potential makeweight in a player-plus-cash deal for Paul Pogba.
