The Portuguese superstar has lifted the lid on his broken relationship with Man Utd.

Cristiano Ronaldo says he feels “betrayed” by Manchester United for his treatment at the club this season.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner found a difficult start to the new season, struggling for game time under Erik ten Hag.

Following his refusal to come in as a late substitute against Tottenham, Ronaldo was even exiled from United’s squad for a Premier League match against Chelsea.

Since then, Ten Hag has returned Ronaldo to his squad. But it seems the pair’s relationship is even worse than initially speculated.

Speaking on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Ronaldo was asked whether he feels he is being forced out of Old Trafford: “Yes. not only by the coach, but by another two or three guys around the club that I felt betrayed me.

“I shouldn’t say that [they were trying to get rid of me], I don’t know, but yes, I feel betrayed. I felt that some people didn’t want me here not only this year, but last year too.”

Asked about his relationship with Ten Hag, he added: “I don’t have respect for him because he doesn’t show respect for me.

“If you don’t have respect for me, I’m never going to have respect for you.”

According to widespread reports in English media, Ronaldo will decide on his future after World Cup.

The latest interview from CR7 makes a January move away from Old Trafford seem the most likely scenario.
