Major firms like Tag Heuer, Clear Haircare, and Nike have collaborated with Ronaldo in the past. In fact, he signed a lifetime agreement with the latter in 2016 worth a reported $1bn. It made him only the third athlete in history to earn such a deal with Nike after Basketball greats Michael Jordan and LeBron James.

Of course, Ronaldo and Nike go all the way back to the player’s first season at Manchester United in 2003. He’s worn many of the manufacturer’s gears and promoted them through social media countless times.

Although a report from sponsorship analysts Hookit in 2016 suggested $1bn was a bargain for Nike. It claimed that Ronaldo’s 329 social media posts endorsing Nike generated $474m that year alone.

Hookit Co-founder Scott Tilton said: “Cristiano is one of the top influencers on the planet who has effectively leveraged his social following and engagement into a media powerhouse to drive tremendous value for his sponsors.

“He’s been incredibly effective at integrating his sponsors into the content he shares with his over 240 million global followers.”

Ronaldo’s biggest social media post of 2016 was on Instagram after winning the European Championship with Portugal. He used Nike’s slogan ‘Just do it’ as a hashtag and in the image itself. The outcome? Nike profited $5.8m!

In February 2021, Ronaldo became the world’s first person to reach 500 million followers across social media platforms Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

The Juventus star has also featured on the cover of EA Sports’ FIFA video game series in the past. While major corporations like Tag Heuer, DAZN, Unilever, and Herbalife have struck deals with him.

There are plans to open more hotels in Marrakech, Manchester, and Paris in the future.

Should all this go to plan, then guests will be in for a treat. As the Pestana CR7 is a football-themed hotel comprising 48 rooms, with Ronaldo memorabilia all over the place. Visitors can even get an autograph and signed ball from the Juventus star himself under certain conditions, like a three-night stay in Lisbon.

The hallway floors, meanwhile, are carpeted with faux-grass to give the image of a football pitch. Add all the memorabilia he’s donated to the mix, then it’s no wonder Ronaldo’s net worth is so big.

Cristiano also teamed up with US health company Crunch to build a gym in Madrid called ‘CR7 Fitness’ in 2016. In March 2019, he helped launch another business in the Spanish capital called ‘Insparya’ – a hair transplant clinic.
