Ronaldo, who missed the pre-season tour to Thailand and Australia for family reasons, has reportedly asked to leave United if a suitable offer is made for him.
The Red Devils continue to insist that the five-time Ballon d’Or winner is not for sale and plan to make him an important part of Ten Hag’s plans for the upcoming 2022/23 campaign.
The board view Ronaldo’s return this week as a sign he may stay for another season.
The former Real Madrid and Juventus superstar has one year left on his current United contract, including an option to extend the deal for another 12 months.
According to Manchester Evening News, Sir Alex Ferguson is present at Carrington. The former Red Devils manager played an influential role in convincing Ronaldo to return to the club last summer from Juventus. CEO Richard Arnold has also arrived.
