Cristiano Ronaldo has rejected two transfer offers

The Portugal captain has been offered a huge amount of money to ply his trade outside of Europe.

Cristiano Ronaldo has rejected two transfer offers from unnamed clubs in Saudi Arabia and the United States.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano. The Italian journalist claims Ronaldo has turned down two formal proposals. One was an offer of around €275 million from Saudi Arabia. The other bidder involved an MLS club. However, as of today, CR7 wants to continue his career in Europe.

The 37-year-old has reportedly asked to leave Manchester United if an acceptable offer arrives after a disappointing first season back at Old Trafford.

Why does Ronaldo want a transfer?

One of the main reasons Ronaldo wants to leave is to compete in the Champions League. But United’s ambition, specifically in the transfer market and the plan to build a team, concern him as well.

With manager Erik ten Hag, however, there are no problems. Both men have mutual respect for each other. Ten Hag still hopes to change Ronaldo’s mind when they meet again.

The forward’s agent, Jorge Mendes, also plans to make another approach to Bayern Munich. The German champions have said no, but Mendes believes that could change. He thinks they might reconsider CR7 if star striker Robert Lewandowski joins Barcelona this summer.

A move to Chelsea is off the table at the moment though, as is a return to Serie A for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

Ronaldo is currently absent from United’s pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia due to a family issue.
