The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has moved one step closer to completing his blockbuster return to Manchester United.
Cristiano Ronaldo has passed his medical and should complete his Manchester United return before Tuesday’s transfer deadline at midnight.
United struck an agreement with Juventus on Friday to bring Ronaldo back to Old Trafford. The club will pay an initial transfer fee of €15 million plus up to €8 million in bonuses.
Three things were all that was left for Ronaldo to complete the move: personal terms, a medical, and a visa.
Cristiano Ronaldo completed Manchester United medical in Lisbon over the weekend ahead of transfer from Juventus. Personal terms agreed on 2 year deal. United have inserted 1 year option. Required aspects of deal will be finalised by deadline. Visa process ongoing. #MUFC #Ronaldo

According to Sky Sports, two of the three above-mentioned things are done. Ronaldo completed a medical in Lisbon over the weekend and has also accepted personal terms for a two-year contract. The deal reportedly includes an option for a third season.
As the United Kingdom is no longer part of the European Union following the ‘Brexit’ saga, Ronaldo must apply for a visa. The Portuguese, though, doesn’t expect any problems. Once that is out of the way, he can complete his return to Old Trafford before the transfer window shuts at midnight on Tuesday.
Ronaldo will link up with his new teammates after the international break and could make his second United debut against Newcastle on September 11.
