The Portuguese superstar reportedly asked the club to allow his exit earlier this summer.
Cristiano Ronaldo has returned to Manchester United’s training ahead of their upcoming friendly against Rayo Vallecano.
The 37-year-old wasn’t in the Red Devils’ squad for their 1-0 defeat against Atletico Madrid on Saturday. However, his new social media post shows he might be available to play in Man Utd’s final pre-season friendly.
Ronaldo posted a picture of himself in United’s training, posing alongside the likes of Charlie Savage and Hannibal Mejbri.
“Work in progress…,” wrote CR7 in the post’s caption.
The new post comes after Ronaldo slammed the media for linking him with a move away from Old Trafford.
“Impossible not to talk about me one day,” Ronaldo wrote on Thursday.
“Otherwise, the press makes no money. You know that if you don’t lie you can’t get people’s attention. Keep going that one day you got some news right.”
According to several English outlets, Ronaldo informed Man Utd of his intention to leave the club in a meeting earlier this week.
New Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag reportedly considers Ronaldo as part of his plans for the Red Devils this season. However, the 37-year-old is yet to confirm his decision to fulfil his contract at the club.
