Manchester United have been beaten in their approach for Jadon Sancho and now have Douglas Costa in their crosshairs.

Douglas Costa was on the fringes of first-team football under Maurizio Sarri. The Brazilian wants first-team action and that will not be guaranteed at the Allianz Arena.

Juventus have reportedly informed Costa’s representatives that they should find a new club for him. He has been offered around and Manchester United have shown interest.

The speculation around Costa’s stay in Turin proves to be true as Gianluca Di Marzio acknowledged behind the scenes operation.

“Juventus want him to leave so his agents are trying to find a solution, and they spoke to Manchester United to find out if they are interested in signing Douglas Costa,” Di Marzio told Sky Sports News.

“So United will think about this player. The problem is that Costa is often injured, so it’s a problem for any club that wants to buy Costa. But they proposed Costa to United for this transfer market.”

The Red Devils failed in their pursuit of Jadon Sancho and are seeking reinforcements elsewhere. Paul Scholes has reiterated his desire for United to sign Sancho.

United are in the transfer market and Costa checks all the boxes and will be a handy addition. He will not be a burden on their transfer ambitions and add value to their dressing room.
