Antonio Conte has called on his Inter Milan side to be more clinical as they prepare to face rivals AC Milan in the Coppa Italia.

Inter coach Antonio Conte says the Nerazzurri must make their chances count in the upcoming Coppa Italia Derby against Milan.

In what would be a big game, Inter Milan and AC Milan will meet at the Giuseppe Meazza on Tuesday in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals. The winner will face the winner between Juventus and Spal in the semis.

AC Milan already claimed a 2-1 victory over Inter back in October, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic scoring both goals on that occasion.

In that match, Inter blew a lot of chances that could have easily seen them win the game.

Ahead of another clash with familiar foes, Conte has called on his side to make their opportunities count in front of goal.

“Earlier on in the season, we found ourselves 2-0 down before we scored. After that, we had several chances to draw level.” the Inter boss said as per the club’s social channel.

“Not just tomorrow but in general too, I think that we need to be much more clinical and determined, especially when it comes to our final ball and shooting at goal. This is what will be important: being determined and decisive when we get into goal-scoring situations.”

Conte knows a victory against Pioli’s Milan wouldn’t come easy and has urged his side to put out a strong performance/

“From a psychological point of view, a place in the next round is at stake, and I think that this is the most important thing in a competition like the Coppa Italia, which we have the utmost respect for.” he added.

“We’ll need to produce a great team performance. While Ibrahimovic is important for AC Milan, they’re not only about him: they’re a team made up of strong and technically gifted players who are doing important things.”
