Simon Jordan claims Solskjaer has under-impressed and coaches like Simeone or Conte would have won the Premier League with Man United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer might not boast enough caliber to lead Manchester United. Coaches with greater reputation might have achieved way more than the Norweigian, claims Simon Jordan.

It is now approaching eight years since the Red Devils last won the Premier League title. Their last triumph came in the final season of Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013.

Under current boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, United are in second place, but trail leaders Manchester City by 11 points.

Since the Norweigian came in at the club, there have been signs of improvement but no overall change in the club’s fortunes regarding titles.

Many times, Solskjaer has seen his job at Old Trafford on the line but has managed to weather the storm on many occasions.

Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan strongly believes the Red Devils might have won the title in recent years if they had a coach with a much better reputation.

Asked by Danny Murphy which manager could boss United and overtake Man City under Pep Guardiola, Jordan told talkSPORT: “Conte and Simeone.”

“The answer is, it depends, because Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn’t have the gravitas with Manchester United to get the players he really wants.”

“Man United should have a [new] centre-forward. They should spend £100million on buying a centre-forward.”

“Why haven’t they got one? Why did they sell [Romelu] Lukaku two years ago and not replace him?”

“That’s down to the level of leverage the manager has and the relationship he has.”

“That comes from the track record of winning things, which our boy doesn’t have except at Molde!”
