The Belgian marksman enjoyed a red hot scoring form in his debut season at San Siro and has carried that in his second one so far.

Romelu Lukaku was on target as Inter Milan marched to the second position in Serie A standings following Saturday’s over Bologna.

With his 16th-minute strike, the former Manchester United upped his league goal tally of this season to eight in his first nine appearances.

He also became one of the only two players to score in all of his first four home appearances in Serie A in 2020/21, with Christian Vieri being the other to achieve that feat in the league’s three-point-win era.

Speaking up his star’s qualities, Antonio Conte backs Lukaku to reach the same levels as the most distinguished finishers on the planet.

“I believe he can still get stronger. I described him as a rough diamond when he arrived and felt that work would help him become one of the best strikers in the world,” Conte told DAZN after the Bologna game, via Goal.

“He is on the right track, as he has everything, the physicality of a center-forward, but also the pace and power of an American Football quarterback.

“He is doing well, has understood what needs to be done, is humble, and works for the team. I am very happy with him.”

Lukaku enjoyed a remarkable debut season in Italy as he netted 34 times in 51 appearances to guide the Nerazzurri to the Europa League final and second-place Serie A finish the last term.
