Followed by several top clubs in Europe, Dayot Upamecano has decided where he wants to continue his career.

Dayot Upamecano is being chased by half of Europe since the summer after a wonderful season at RB Leipzig. The 22-year-old has been a regular presence in Bundesliga matches since 2017, despite his young age. In fact, not only does he have incredible strength and impressive tackling skills, but the French defender also has one of the best pass completion rates in the Bundesliga.

According to RMC Sport, Upamecano has decided to continue playing in Germany and sign for the current champions Bayern Munich. In fact, the new Club World Cup winners are more than ready to pay the release clause in order to secure the young center-back.

Since Bayern are willing to pay the €42.5 million fee, they only needed to close the deal with the player and his agent. In fact, several reports came in today suggesting an agreement had been reached. Recently, Fabrizio Romano stated that Bayern’s sporting director Salihamidzic confirmed the transfer is now complete.

Moreover, the Bavarians offered Upamecano a five-year contract starting this summer. According to Salihamdzic, both the player and the club are very happy he’ll join in next season.

Dayot Upamecano already has 26 appearances for RB Leipzig this season and even scored one goal in the Bundesliga. Therefore, there is no doubt that Die Roten Bullen will sorely miss one of their best players.
