The Argentina international is out of action with a thigh injury.

Juventus have confirmed Angel Di Maria will complete his recovery before the upcoming World Cup tournament.

The Argentine star limped off the pitch in tears after sustaining an injury in Juventus’ defeat against Maccabi Haifa on Tuesday.

Widespread speculations in Italian media claimed Di Maria wouldn’t be able to play for Argentina in the World Cup. However, Juve’s official report on the incident reveals the 34-year-old can return to action in 20 days.

“The diagnostic tests that Di Maria underwent this morning at the J| Medical showed a low-grade lesion of the femoral biceps of the right thigh,” a statement read.

“It will take about 20 days for its complete recovery.”

Di Maria will miss Juventus’ upcoming Serie A games against Torino and Lecce. The Argentine will also sit out of his side’s crucial Champions League match against Benfica later this month.

The former Paris Saint-Germain star will most likely return to action in Juve’s match against Inter on November 6. He will then join Argentina in their preparation camp for the upcoming World Cup games.

The Albiceleste will start the tournament with a match against Saudi Arabia on November 22 before taking on Mexico four days later.
