Coman to miss the opener for Bayern Munich

Kingsley Coman will skip the Bundesliga starting game for Bayern Munich as he gets infected with the coronavirus.

The French international and Bayern Munich striker Kinglsey Coman reportedly got infected by the coronavirus. He is set to miss the Bundesliga opening game against Schalke on Friday.

Coman will undergo a virtual training period and spend time in isolation at home according to the Champions League winners.

Although the Frenchman tested negative for the virus on Sunday. The Bavarian giants provided a statement at a press conference stating that he will miss the home game.

The statement was as follows: 

“The 24-year-old attacker has been in contact with a person infected with the coronavirus and is in now undertaking a period of isolation at home. In accordance with the guidelines outlined by the Robert Koch Institute and in coordination with the Health Department of the City of Munich.”

“Coman will keep himself fit at home with remote virtual training sessions.”

Kingsley scored the winning goal in the Champions League final for the German giants. Coman is potentially linked to Manchester United as an option for Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho.
