The award winners from the 2020 FIFA Club World Cup have been announced. Lewandowski took home the big prize.

Robert Lewandowski is in the best form of his career and he has yet another award to show for it.

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich claimed a historic sixth trophy of the year on Thursday after recording a 1-0 win over North American champions Tigres in the Club World Cup final. The only goal of that game came through Pavard in the 59th minute.

On a night where Lewandowski didn’t score, he was still involved in the winning goal. Pavard was assisted by the Polish forward for the goal.

The in-form Bayern forward won his second consecutive man of the match award for his performance and also won the trophy for the MVP of the final.

Two goals in the competition were also enough to see Lewandowski walk home as the best player of the tournament. He won the prize ahead of Tigres’ Andre-Pierre Gignac and teammate Joshua Kimmich.

Qatari hosts Al-Duhail were also recognized by the organisers and walked away with the FIFA Fair Play Trophy.

Given that the competition should have taken place in 2020, it will still count as a trophy for last year. With that in mind, Bayern won a historic six titles in 2020 and that makes last year the most successful ever in their history.
