In their quest for a new striker upfront, Man City have been urged to prioritize a move for Erling Haaland over Harry Kane.

With Aguero past his prime and struggling with injuries since last season, City are on the lookout for a top replacement upfront.

In fact, the Argentine has attracted interest from Barcelona and could consider leaving the club this summer.

In a list of potential replacements, one striker that could do similar or better than Aguero is Tottenham’s Harry Kane.

The Spurs frontman has been linked with a move to City, with rivals Manchester United also interested. However, his price tag has been put at a staggering 150m.

Spurs would rather keep their prized asset, but his desire to win trophies could see him consider an exit from the club.

If the Citizens are to spend that amount on a forward, former club defender Danny Mills says it should be on Haaland and not Kane or Mbappe.

The Borussia Dortmund star continues to show his hunger in front of goal as he bagged his 18th Champions League goal in just his 13th appearance on Wednesday.

“If you are going to spend that money I’d go and buy Erling Haaland,” Mills told Thursday’s talkSPORT Breakfast.

“I watched him last night and he was sensational.”

“You know why I’d get Haaland? I think he’s got different things to Mbappe. He can do a lot of similar things; obviously Mbappe has the pace and lots of trickery and skill.”

“But Haaland has two or three more assets; he’s 6ft 4, he’s great in the air, can hold the ball up, and I just think there’s a bit more in the mix to Haaland’s game than Mbappe’s.”

“They’re both sensational but I think Haaland in the Premier League – it would be more suited to him.”

Haaland continues to impress and has a remarkable 25 goals in 24 games in all competitions for Borussia Dortmund this season.
